Irene Ali Dery

Irene assists the firm’s lawyers with various aspects of the firm’s caseload, and is also a key member of the firm’s practice management team.

Irene studied law as a postgraduate at the University of Ghana and prior to that qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Land Economy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She was adjudged the best student in Criminal Law  for the 2016/2017 academic year.

Prior to working at Egality Law, Irene undertook her national service at the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department of Ghana. She also regularly volunteers at various organisations including the GhanaThink Foundation, where she facilitates mentorship of tertiary students and young entrepreneurs by experienced professionals.

Irene was recognised for her contribution as a voice for gender equality and the protection of human rights by being awarded a Civil Leadership award on the Obama YALI programme in 2016.
